The Blackbird 3 is what happens when three established musicians and longtime friends combine forces to create a musical experience like nothing that has been heard before! Groundbreaking Native American Flutist and 6 x Native American Music Award-winning artist Cody Blackbird joins veteran musicians Ed Koban & Matthew Knott in a groundbreaking collaboration that combines Native American Flute, World Music Drumming/Percussion, and Guitar generated electronic sounds to paint soundscapes that range from serene and ethereal to downright raging and bombastic! The Blackbird 3 was born in August of 2023 at the Cobblestone Art house in Medina, NY when Cody, Ed & Matt got together for a night of improvisational music and was met with extreme enthusiasm by the lively and intimate crowd. As a result, their next performance was a month later, with recorders and cameras rolling, at (Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls) GCR Audio’s Studio A in Buffalo, NY. The result was a incredible performance captured live, with out edit or overdub, for their debut offering entitled: “The Blackbird 3: Live at Studio A”.
