Applications Available for 29th Annual Storrs All High Photo ShowThis year's exhibit will take place April 6-27. High school art/photography teachers will receive applications in the mail, or can download a PDF here. Forms must be completed and returned with application fee by March 7. Images must be delivered by March 28.
Spring Fever Antique Show, March 8This popular event has moved to the spacious Kenan Arena and will feature more than 60 antique dealers. Beverages and food will also be available. Gernal admission is $3 from 10 am-4 pm; early birds can arrive at 9 am for a $6 admission fee. $1 off coupon is available at www.niagaraarttrail.com.
Music & Children Together--Classes Start March 17The winter session of Mary Dunn's popular class for ages 3 months to 5 years starts in March! Two themes will be offered--one for ages 3-17 months, the second for ages 18 months to 3 years. Plus, both classes incorporate American Sign Lanaguage and the older tots learn easy yoga positions. Registrations for Fall Montessori Preschool Now Being AcceptedThe Kenan Center's Montessori Preschool provides multi-sensory, multi-age group learning that's hands-on and child-centered. The program is half-day, 5 days a week. We are currently accepting registrations for the afternoon session which will run from 12:15-3:15 p.m. For a personal tour, call the Kenan Business Office at 433-2617.
Winter Soccer Schedules & StatSchedules and stats for all divisions can be found on the Youth Soccer page. For questions regarding schedules, or cancellation of games/practices due to weahter, please call the Arena office at 433-2619.
Kenan Arts Council Scholarships AvailableThe KAC awards 3 scholarships annually of $750 to high school seniors who will be attending college to study art, music, design or theater. Applications are currently available at the Kenan Center Business Office, in guidance offices, and music and art departments of Barker, Lockport, Newfane, Niagara-Wheatfield, Royalton-Hartland, Starpoint, and Wilson High Schools, or download form. Winter ClosingWeather-related Closings The Kenan Center (Business Office and Gallery) and Preschool are closed when the Lockport Schools are closed due to weather. Events scheduled for days when the Center is closed due to weather may still take place. Please refer to local TV stations for event cancellations. You can also call the Kenan Center Business number at 433-2617 for a recorded voicemail message about cancellations. The Kenan Arena and recreational programs may take place even if the Center is closed. If you have children in a program that is cancelled, you will be contacted. You can also call the Arena at 433-2619 to inquire if a program is cancelled. Generally, a decision to cancel a recreational program is made in the afternoon of a weather-related event. Promoters of special events not hosted by the Kenan Center that are cancelled due to weather are responsible for informing the public about the cancellation of their event. Again, we recommend watching your local news channel for event cancellations.
