A Reggio-inspired classroom

Art, nature, and child-led discovery.

Kenan Center’s Pre-K classroom runs 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM as a full-day program inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, with a strong emphasis on art and creative expression, nature and outdoor exploration, child-led discovery, hands-on learning, and social-emotional growth.

The classroom is led by Ms. Alison Tweedie, who brings an exceptional background in early childhood education. She holds a degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Niagara University and is completing her Master’s Degree in Literacy Instruction. Her experience spans preschool teacher, education specialist, center supervisor, center director, and most recently Special Education Teacher in an integrated preschool setting — with deep experience in curriculum development, teacher training, early literacy instruction, special education support, and inclusive learning environments for children ages 3–5.

Bringing Montessori and Reggio-inspired approaches together under one roof means more ways for children to learn, create, explore, and grow at Kenan.
