Dear Friends of the Kenan,
As an arts, education and cultural hub for our community we pride ourselves in being a space for people to convene and learn about the world together. Yesterday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced statewide bans on gatherings of more than 500 people. Additionally, venues with capacities below 500 will be required to halve their listed occupancy limits. This measure has placed us in a position to cancel the following events:
- Jazz at the Taylor: Pat Labarbera Sextet | Saturday, March 14
- Susan B. Anthony Alive | Saturday, March 21
- Mary Walton Author Talk | Sunday, March 22
- 35th Annual Storrs All High Photo Show | Sunday, April 5
- The Dining Room, Carriage House Players | April 17 – April 25
All ticket holders will be reimbursed.
Our regular gallery hours, programming and small scales events and rentals will still take place with the utmost effort to maintain a clean and disinfected space for us to come together. For our Kenan Arena programming, we ask that all spectators be limited to the guardians and siblings of the participant. We will continue to plan upcoming events with a close eye on the forthcoming recommendations of local government and health officials.
We send our love to those affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
