CHILDREN: Children & Music with Mary Dunn–Winter/Spring Session 2018

Children & Music with Mary Dunn uses music to encourage early learning and creativity in young children. Music is the means, not the goal. American Sign Language and yoga are incorporated into classes. Mary Dunn, instructor, has taught a children’s music program at the Kenan Center for more than 21 years. For information, contact Mary Dunn at 531-3104. Fee: $110 Kenan members/$120 non-members. Deadline to register is March 9th.

Ages 16 months – 3 1/2 years, The World Around Me
10 weeks beginning March 13th for Tuesday classes; March 14th for Wednesday classes. Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 AM; Tuesdays, 10:30-11:15 AM. Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30 AM; Wednesdays, 10:30-11:15 AM.

TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES Call 433-2617 to charge by phone or visit the Kenan Center Business Office, M-F, 9 am-4:30 pm. All class fees are due at the time of registration.

REFUND POLICY. 100% refunded up to 7 days before a one-day class/workshop or first week of a multi-week class. No refunds if less than 7 days prior to the class starting date. Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

We’ve planned a week-full of special programs for children (and families!) to enjoy during winter break. Registrations are now being accepted. All programs have fees. Due to limited space for each program, except for Defiant Monkey Improv performance, advance registration is strongly recommended. Tuesday, February 20, Tunes and Tales with Diana—10 AM
Come enjoy a morning filled with singing songs, dancing, & stories. Diana will entertain & excite the whole family with activities everyone can participate in. Then join her for a fun craft that everyone can make and take home. Recommended for ages 2 & up—older siblings welcome!$5 per child; adults are free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wednesday, February 21, Defiant Monkey Winter Break Family Fun Show—10 AM
Defiant Monkey Improv is a two-person improvisation team that creates on-the-spot theater based on audience suggestions and participation. A great show for the whole family in the historic Taylor Theater. $6 per person. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, February 22, Snowga—9:45 and 10:45 AM
Join Brandi for Snowga, snow and winter themed yoga in the Kenan Center House Living Room! Learn new poses while practicing deep breathing, relaxation and an emphasis on mindfulness. K-4 students will also participate in yoga obstacle courses, and beginning introduction to vinyasa. Ages 3-5, 9:45-10:30 AM, $12 per child. Kindergarten—4th Grade, 10:45-11:45 PM, $15 per child.

CANCELLED Friday, February 23, Snow Day!—10 AM to 12 NOON
Join us for snow day activities in the Kenan Gardens and Taylor Theater Meeting Room celebrating all things snow! Includes crafts, hot cocoa, and a snowshoe demonstration from Earth Spirit Educational Services. Play outside on our grounds, and other fun activities will be available. Students 10 years and up can also register for our mini-snowshoe session! Recommended preschool and up, $6 per child. $12 per child for snowshoe session includes all activities before session. Children must be accompanied by an adult; adults are free.

ADULTS: Crafts Uncorked Returns!

Join us for a creative evening of making decorated wreaths with seasonal themes while sipping wine! A different Niagara Wine Trail winery will be on hand for each class. All materials included. Casual food provided. Class sizes are limited, so be sure to register early! $25 non-members; $20 members. 7:00-9:00 PM. Age 21 and over. To register, call 433-2617. See below for dates and themes.
