About 100 American Craftsmen100 American Craftsmen is an annual show of contemporary craft art held at the Kenan Arena on the historic Kenan Center campus in Lockport, New York--just a short drive from Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester and southern Ontario. The juried show is Buffalo Niagara's only, and longest-running, show dedicated to contemporary craft art and features leather, glass, metal, clay, wood, basketry, fiber, paper and mixed media. All proceeds from admissions and exhibitors fees are used to cover show expenses and support our 25-acre campus which is the largest regional community arts, education and recreation center in Eastern Niagara, serving 43,000 plus individuals each year through more than fifty programs.
Many of our craftsmen return year after year because they enjoy the friendly, intimate atmosphere that encourages plenty of one-on-one with shoppers. Our visitors enjoy the wide aisles that allow for leisurely browsing--and wheelchair accessibility--the free raffle ticket for an original craft given with every admission ticket, and a separate, monitored "children's artspace" where kids can doodle and dabble safely.
Supporting the Arts for More Than 30 Years!Since its first exhibition of works by renowned watercolorist, Charles Burchfield, in 1966, the Kenan Center has supported, facilitated and promoted the visual arts through gallery exhibitions, student shows, the gift shop, adult and children's classes, our new on-school-time arts education program, and commissioned artworks. These programs--among the more than fifty offered annually--are made possible, in part, through the proceeds generated by 100 American Craftsmen.
Our VisitorsOur attendees come from all across Western New York and even from areas north (Canada) and east (Rochester) of us. Our patrons also attend such prestigious regional craft shows as the Allentown Art Festival (Buffalo), Clothesline(Rochester), and the Chautauqua Crafts Alliance Show (Chautauqua). Many say that 100 American Craftsmen is their favorite crafts show and one they simply won't miss!Location and Directions100 American Craftsmen takes place indoors at the Kenan Center Arena, 195 Beattie Avenue, on the East side of the Kenan Center campus (bordering Locust Street).
